WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram - Service Down
The social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Messengers, Instagram are facing issues repeatedly on the IOS and Android platform for the past one hour while with the messengers the users are unable to sent messages or receive any data . All the services are down and nearly 10000 users affected however Facebook still seem to work . It reports error as "5xx Server Error " , while the whatsApp messages are not sent ie., the senting icon with clock symbol is just seen. For some users it shows waiting for network and for many the page doesn't repond. As for instagram over 30000 reports have been registered for the last 30 minutes. But till now the Facebook company have not made any official comment about this outage.
According to the data shown on DownDetector, 67 per cent people are unable to refresh their news feed on Instagram while 19% are unable to login to their accounts. The remaining 13% have been complaining about Instagram.com being unresponsive.
For Facebook the total black out on the mobile app is displayed. As of now many reactions are made on twitter. Some users also reported that they failed to even log in to WhatsApp Web.
"A technical issue caused people to have trouble accessing some Facebook services. We resolved this issue for everyone, and we apologise for any inconvenience," a Facebook spokesperson said.
"Thanks for your patience, that was a long 45 minutes but we are back!" WhatsApp posted on Twitter.
"Some people were having issues with their Instagram accounts earlier, but we're back now. The issue's been fixed and we're sorry for the trouble," Instagram tweeted, along with a GIF.
About 49% reported connection issue, 48% of people unable to sent or recive sms, and 2% not able to login.
Similar issue was faced by people in UK since February in social media platform-Facebook
This outage is not the first time, In December 2020 WhatsApp along with Instagram and Facebook down for a short period and their services are soon restored.
Another instant messaging app, Signal, which claims better user privacy and security, tweeted a swipe on the WhatsApp downtime.
